WinSTEM Week is just around the corner, and we are thrilled to announce that Mujeres Omega Foundation is joining with AWSN once again this year to join the celebration! From October 6-12, 2024, Alberta will honor Women in STEM Week, an initiative officially recognized by the Government of Alberta. Celebrated around Ada Lovelace Day, WinSTEM Week aims to highlight the achievements of women in STEM fields, raise awareness about barriers to entry and retention, and spark interest in STEM careers among young girls across the province.
At Mujeres Omega Foundation, we are committed to fostering STEM education and creating opportunities for women and girls. We are excited to host our event, “Building Bridges – Let’s Make Robots,” on October 6, 2024. This interactive workshop will be held at 912 Ash Street Sherwood Park, AB T8A 2G1 near Edmonton from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During this engaging session, kids and moms will team up to build and program simple robots, promoting creativity, teamwork, and an interest in STEM.

Reflecting on Our Success:
This summer, we had a fantastic time during our Kids and Moms robotics session in July. The excitement and creativity from the participants were palpable as we explored robotics together. The photos from this event capture the fun and learning that took place, showcasing the vibrant engagement of both kids and moms.
Last spring, our “Building Bridges” initiative was a tremendous success, bringing together girls and moms to explore engineering concepts in a hands-on way.
